What is an (NS) - Name server record?

Name server resource records are used to list all of the name servers that will be authoritative for your domain or a sub-domain. The Excedo DNS powered by Dynect which are authoritative for your domain are assigned when your account was created and are not user editable. The NS record type can be used to add a different set of name servers for sub-domains.
